Storytelling Workshop

Thursday, August 14th | 1:30pm – 4:30pm

Join us for an up-close and personal STORYTELLING CLASS with Storytelling expert Christine Blackburn. Known for her 15 year podcast Story Worthy, and her LIVE game show, Story Smash The Storytelling Game Show, Christine has been helping comedians find the most interesting parts of their lives to share, and she uses her 15 years of experience to bring their story to life. A story consists of a sequence of actions that occur when a sympathetic character encounters a complicating situation that he confronts and solves. It’s deceptively simple, yet not easy to hone alone. Just because you’ve heard stories all of your life doesn’t mean you know how to tell a good one. It takes a lot of hard work and training. Take advantage of this opportunity to work your (5 minute) story in front of Christine and get honest feedback and constructive criticism. Also learn how to add details, timestamps, and pauses for the most effect. Whether you’ve been telling stories for years, or you’re a brand new storytelller, Christine can help you confidently share your story with the most impact. Keep your audience engaged and take your comedy to the next levelwith storytelling! This class includes a 5 minute spot in the Main Room so you can share your story in front of hundreds of people.
